![]() US company Ringly has launched a bejeweled finger ring that alerts women – or perhaps some men – to incoming e-mails or text messages. It can also control a smartphone’s camera.
The Ringly ring – encased in milky white, forest green, maroon and black gems – will be shipped to consumers in coming months for US$195.
Two other smart-rings announced recently are the Smarty Ring, which is Bluetooth-enabled and can control a phone’s camera and music, or provide text and e-mail message alerts; and the Logbar Ring, said to be able to recognise gestures and send texts with the wag of a finger.
