Woolworths Cancels Online Orders

Customers have been left without groceries for days after technical issues plagued Woolworths’ online ordering system.

According to a report by iTnews, customers were initially advised of problems with their orders on Sunday afternoon.

While Woolworths had initially planned to redeliver these orders the following day, the technical issues persisted and led to orders on Monday afternoon being cancelled as well.

“We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have tried very hard to fix the technical issues and meet the delivery time however we have been unable to do so. We can understand this is incredibly frustrating,” Woolworths said (via iTnews).

Customers posting on Woolworths’ Facebook page said they had received a gift card for a future online order in addition to a full refund. Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci also apologised to affected customers in an email.

“Sunday and the start of the week are critical shopping days for our customers, including via online, and we are extremely disappointed to have let these customers down and apologise unreservedly,” Banducci said (via News.com.au).
