Microsoft is about to bring new Xbox expandable storage options from Western Digital to market, marking the first non-Seagate storage option for Xbox Series X|S players.

A new Western Digital 1TB expansion card for Xbox Series S / X consoles has been spotted briefly on a Best Buy website priced at $179.99 (A$269) before being yanked from sale.

Given there are multiple images of the product, with both the Xbox and Western Digital branding, it’s certain this is an actual product set for sale soon.

Assuming there isn’t too steep a markup, this means the WD option will sell for some A$80 cheaper than the Seagate 1TB card, which is currently A$349.
