Amazon To Launch 3D Phone With 4 Front Facing Camera’s
Amazon’s smartphone will reportedly employ retina-tracking technology and no less than four front-facing cameras, to make some images appear to be 3D, similar to a hologram.
The company reportedly plans to release the smartphone around June and start shipping by September in time for the peak end of year buting period.
It has already been demonstrating versions of the handset in San Francisco and Seattle, among other cities.
Observers say Amazon is banking on the pseudo-3D display to set it apart in the crowded smartphone market. Users reportedly won’t need special glasses to view 3D images, should anyone actually want to do that while making a phone call.
