LG Develops Air Conditioning System The Kills Mosquitoes
Described as ideal for Australian conditions the air conditioning unit has been launched in Africa to combat malaria which is spread by mosquitoes.
An LG Africa spokesperson said “LG’s new Mosquito Away Air Conditioner delivers true comfort it incorporates ultrasonic wave technology, which effectively repels mosquitoes. We are confident that the Mosquito Away air conditioner will meet the needs of consumers in this important African market.”
The Mosquito Away AC is designed to aid in the fight against mosquitoes, which cause malaria germs. Speaking on the effectiveness of the new technology the electronic giant said that in Peety Grady Chamber tests, the Mosquito Away technology proved its effectiveness by knocking down 64 percent of female anopheles mosquitoes within 24 hours, and repelling 82 percent overall. The air conditioner emits ultrasonic waves that disrupt the mosquito’s sensory cells and cause paralysis, confusion and often death.
The LG Mosquito Away function can be turned on independently of cooling; helping to prevent unnecessary energy usage.
