Smart home specialists SnapAV have unveiled its US$600 ‘highly-refined’ touchscreen remote control built to operate Control4’s Smart Home OS 3 platform.

The Neeo Remote Control for Control4 is available for US$600 through their showrooms around the world, with Sydney HiFi Castle Hill, Crown Electrical Solutions and Life Style Store listed as certified showrooms in NSW.

However, at this stage there is no word on exact Australian pricing or availability.

Control4 is even running a #C4YOURSELFDAY on 21 November allowing customers to visit a certified showroom and see the Control4 Smart Home OS in person.

To find out if a certified showroom is hosting the demonstration access the store locator here and contact them directly for details.

The Neeo Control4 remote promises ‘fast access’ to smart home controls through the Smart Home OS 3 platform that has been ‘thoughtfully engineered to control your home media experience and unify the smart home’.

Both the software and hardware are optimised for responsiveness and battery life, including auto-sleep functions when not in use and a rechargeable battery that lasts five days.

Connecting through Wi-Fi the remote boasts a 3-inch high-resolution touchscreen which will prominently display the current playback source whether it be Netflix or Spotify.

The sleek, aluminium body is available in both a black or silver finish, with physical buttons so you can ‘keep your eyes on the movie, not the remote’.

An included weighted charge base allows for ‘quick pick-up’ use.

The remote extends beyond just entertainment controls allowing for integration with smart devices like lighting, heating and other intelligent applications.

With integration with Alexa and the Google Assistant, the remote provides ‘at a glance’ views for your smart home devices for easy access and configuration.

However, despite the Smart Home OS 3 mobile app being available on both the Google Play Store and Apple’s Appstore, there is no support for AirPlay2 or Siri.
