Uniden Backs 78-Year-Old Racing Veteran for Bathurst SuperUtes
Uniden Australia is backing 78-year-old racing veteran Richard Mork. Mork will return to Mount Panorama for his 93rd Bathurst start in the V8 SuperUtes at this year’s Bathurst 1000 (October 9–12).
He is stepping in for injured driver Chris Formosa.
A fixture of Australian motorsport since 1964, Mork has competed across drag racing, rally, motorkhanas, dirt circuits, touring cars and iconic tracks including Amaroo, Oran Park and Castlereagh.
“At 78, I’m thrilled to be back at Bathurst. It’s a track that has defined so much of my career and passion for racing. Motorsport has always been about pushing limits, and I’m grateful to Uniden for giving me the opportunity to get back behind the wheel and do what I love most,” Mork said.
Uniden Oceania marketing boss Brad Hales added: “Richard’s story is nothing short of inspirational. His commitment to motorsport across six decades is a testament to the spirit of racing in Australia. We are incredibly proud to sponsor Richard and have two cars at Bathurst this year.”
