Traeger Launch New Smart Grills
Outdoor cooking specialists Traeger Grills has launched new wood pellet grills in time for summer, featuring innovative technology the company said will reinvent the grilling category.
The new Pro ($1,499), Ironwood ($2,499), and Timberline ($3,299) range of grills feature Traeger’s D2 Direct Drive and WiFIRE technology.
Traeger Grills CEO Jeremy Andrus said the new technology is “game-changing” and “truly takes cooking to the next level, whether you’re just starting out, or a seasoned pro”.
The D2 Direct Drive feature uses a new variable speed fan and auger to provide optimal blue smoke production from a wider range of temperatures.
The included TurboTemp technology heats the grills faster and allow for more precise temperatures.
An industry-first brushless motor promises to deliver “years of reliable performance”.
Traeger is also bringing its new WiFIRE and accompanying app to more grills after it previously debuted in the Timberline series.
The app allows grillers to change temperatures, set timers and monitor food temp from their smartphone.
The Pro series is available in two models offering 575 and 780 ($1,899) square inches of grill space a piece, with a temperature range of 65 to 232 degrees Celsius, which can be set in five degree increments.
The new Ironwood series grill comes in a pill-shaped barrel design with Traeger’s DownDraft Exhaust and TRU Convection systems included to help cook faster, and can get as hot 260 degrees.
A new SuperSmoke mode gives users a button to increase the amount of smoke used in the cooking process for more flavour.
The Timberline range now includes new pellet-sensing technology so users can make sure they never run too low.
The two models are available with 850 or 1300 ($3999) square inches of grill space and have the same temperature range as the Ironwood range.
Traeger grills are now available from a variety of retailers including Winning Appliances and Barbeques Galore.
