Since the released of a new Threads app, the original version is now unavailable in most European countries, however is still available in over 100 countries including the UK and US.

European users can’t even use it through a VPN as Meta confirmed it is blocking European countries using Threads, which has resulted in profiles and content not loading, and notifications not working.

“Threads is currently unavailable in most European countries and we have taken further measures to prevent people from those countries accessing threads. Europe continues to be a very important market for Meta and we hope to be able to bring Threads to more countries in the future.”

Within a week of launch, Threads gained 100 million users, and the expansion to European countries would only expand that.

But likely due to the upcoming Digital Markets Act (DMA), it won’t be available anytime soon.
