The Brand New Beats Studio Pro Headphones
It’s been six years since Beats by Dre introduced the Beats Studio3 Over Ear Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones, and now the Beats Studio Pro Headphones are seeing a huge following.
Launching this month, costing $529.95 AUD, these headphones are in competition with Sony, Apple, Bowers & Wilkins, and Sennheiser, available in retail stores such as Target.
Equipped with new, improved interior components, including more sensitive mics improving the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), new sensors enabling Personalised Spatial Audio (Dolby Atmos) with Dynamic Head Tracking, new UltraPlush leather cushions for improved comfort, and new 40mm proprietary transducers.
Also equipped with USB-C audio supporting uplink and downlink connectivity, allowing users to listen or take a call all while the phone is charging through one single cable. It also enables lossless audio listening at up to 24 bit/48kHz thanks to the built in DAC.
BlueTooth was upgraded to 5.3, call clarity has been claimed to be “27% improved” and it comes included with Transparency Mode. Battery life lasts up to 24 hours with ANC on, and 40 hours with ANC off, as well as the inclusion of “Hey Siri.”
No longer utilising Apple’s W1 chipset, instead using what has been coined “Beats Proprietary Platform (Gen 2) standardising features sets for both iOS and Android.
This means quick device pairing, and seamless device switching don’t work, along with less noticeable power management, lower latency, and maintaining BlueTooth connectivity.
There is also no auto power off or music auto pause when the headphones are removed from your head.
However, these headphones offer several ways of connecting devices: Class 1 BlueTooth, USB-C audio, and 3.5mm analog input for wired audio sources.
Using USB-C audio, users can choose between three distinct sound profiles:
- The Signature profile.
- The Entertainment profile.
- The Conversation profile.
ANC and Transparency modes are disabled while USB-C audio is active, and can be used while connected through the 3.5mm cable, however sound profiles are disabled.
