Samsung Takes On Apple With Galaxy Watch Active2
Samsung has introduced the newest addition to its smartwatch portfolio, the Galaxy Watch Active2, which Samsung says is designed with new, intuitive and refined features for greater user customisation and flexibility.
The news comes as the global market for smartwatches continues to intensify, with Apple still leading pack in this space.
Available from October 8, the Galaxy Watch Active2 helps users with completing tasks efficiently, as well as assist with wellness goals such as sleep, fitness, stress management.
The Galaxy Watch Active2 will be priced from $549 for the 44m BTH version, $749 for the 40mm LTE, and $799 for the 44mm LTE range.
It serves to assist with improved health and wellness, and provides actionable insights that can help users make positive lifestyle choices relating to diet, exercise, mental help, sleep and more.
Users can manually track more than 39 workouts with seven of them automatically activated – including running, walking, cycling, rowing machine, elliptical machine and dynamic workouts.
With LTE connectivity, users can make and receive calls freely from the device, while social media viewers are accessible with just a tap of the finger.
The Watch Active2 now also supports real-time voice and text translation in over 16 languages.
The smartwatch also makes music and multimedia access even easier for users through Samsung’s partnership with Spotify.
“Growth in the wearables category has skyrocketed over recent years as more Australians adopt wearable technology to complement and empower their daily lives,” said Garry McGregor, vice-president, IT & Mobile, Samsung Electronics Australia.
“The Galaxy Watch Active2 offers true stand-alone connectivity with innovative functionality and holistic health management in a stylish and feature-packed design.”
“From tracking wellness routines to providing smartphone-free access to music on-the-go, the Galaxy Watch Active2 delivers the latest wearable innovations with a premium design and finish at an accessible price point across the range.”
The Watch Active2 features a brand-new upgrade to Samsung’s signature rotating bezel, turning it digital for extra convenience and navigation capabilities, while also maximising the screen size.
Now directly on the curved Super AMOLED screen, the rotating touch bezel turns both clockwise and counter-clockwise to advance screens, giving users the ability to easily select favourite apps.
The smartwatch comes in two different sizes – 44mm and 40mm in diameter, and two styles – lightweight aluminium with a casual Fluoroelastomer (FKN) Band, and premium solid stainless steel with a leather strap.
