Sony Upgrades Budget ANC Earbuds with Touch Controls

Sony has unveiled the WF-C710N, the latest iteration of its budget-friendly noise-cancelling wireless earbuds, bringing several key improvements over its predecessor, the WF-C700N.

The new model boasts enhanced active noise cancellation (ANC), upgraded battery life, and a shift from physical buttons to touch-sensitive controls.

The WF-C710N now features dual microphones on each earbud for improved ANC performance, while AI-powered noise reduction enhances call quality in noisy environments.

Another notable upgrade is the addition of wear detection sensors, which automatically pause playback when the earbuds are removed.

Battery life has also been significantly extended, offering up to 8.5 hours of playback with ANC enabled, and up to 30 hours when factoring in the charging case – double the total battery life of the previous WF-C700N. A quick five-minute charge provides an extra hour of listening time.

In terms of design, the earbuds retain Sony’s signature compact form factor but introduce a fresh lineup of colours, including black, white, pink, and a striking new transparent ‘Glass Blue’ option.

The WF-C710N is now available for preorder in Australia for A$189.95, with shipping expected to begin at the end of March.
