Sony has expanded its ULT Power Sound lineup with four new models – ULT Field 3, Field 5, Tower 9, and Tower 9AC – each engineered for bass-first performance and ‘big sound’ across different use cases.

The ULT Field 3 is Sony’s most compact entry, featuring a single woofer and tweeter pair with a passive radiator enclosure. It runs for up to 24 hours per charge, and a quick 10-minute burst adds roughly two hours of playback.

Built to be comfortable in the Great Outdoors, it has an IP67 rating, meaning it’s dustproof and can even survive being dropped in water. It also supports multipoint Bluetooth and Party Connect (i.e. Sony’s feature for linking wireless speakers) and includes a detachable shoulder strap and USB-C powerbank function.

One step up, the ULT Field 5 displays its impressive DNA with dual tweeters and side passive radiators. It delivers up to 25 hours of runtime and adds improved LED lighting, a 10‑band EQ via Sony’s Sound Connect, and the same dustproof and waterproof credentials as its junior sibling.

For stationary power, the ULT Tower 9 brings full-room dominance with an enormous woofer, four tweeters and two mid-range drivers. There are dual ULT bass modes—ULT1 for deeper low-end, ULT2 for punchier impact.

The ULT Tower 9 also sports 360° Party Sound (a ‘boosted audio’ mode) and adds synchronised lighting, known as ‘360° Party Light’, karaoke and guitar inputs, TV Sound Booster, and 25 hours of battery life. It even has wheels and a handle for portability.

As its name suggests, the ULT Tower 9AC mirrors Tower 9’s audio and lighting capabilities but drops the battery to rely on direct AC power. Sony is positioning it as a plug‑and‑play powerhouse for uninterrupted sessions.

Across the lineup, the signature ULT button toggles the bass modes – ULT1 and ULT2 – letting users enjoy deep, immersive lows without sacrificing clarity.

The new speakers will face plenty of competition, but Sony seems to have done everything possible to appeal to those who like to party, be it inside or outside.
