Who it’s up against
At $2,990 for a 60cm, this sits well above volume brands and squarely in design-led premium induction.

Beyond F&P, the premium 60–90cm built-in induction segment in Australia is contested by Electrolux, Bosch, Miele and Fisher & Paykel.
The Good Guys, Harvey Norman and specialist retailers, are also selling AEG, Siemens, ASKO and V-ZUG induction cooktops into the new home and renovation market via the like of e&s
Key features includev MultiZone flexibility (two flexible zones combine into one larger surface), Evo Slider white backlit touch controls that only appear in use, Autopot Detection that auto-activates the correct zone, and Auto-vent 2.0, which pairs with Smeg rangehoods over Bluetooth for automatic synchronised ventilation.
The new cooktop slots into Smeg’s existing matte black family of ovens, cookers, rangehoods and benchtop appliances, pitched at consumers wanting a fully coordinated matte black kitchen. It also follows the design push out of EuroCucina 2026, where Smeg unveiled the Musa collection with BorromeodeSilva, ovens in matt black and silver plus induction hobs — and the Isola elevated cooktop range with Stefano Boeri Interiors.
