Samsung slashed its 2022 smartphone orders across its entire portfolio by thirty million units, with production already rapidly reduced.

The Korean giant produced 12 million units during the month of May, a 20 per cent drop from the same time a year ago.

In addition, production volume for the first four months of the year was also down compared to 2021, with just 80 million units produced in this period.

The new goal for 2022 production sits at 280 million units, down from the planned 310 million.

Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, and harsh lockdowns in Shanghai have led to the drop in production.

Samsung is planning to produce 20 million units this month, in order to get back on track.
