Samsung is reportedly preparing a noticeable design shift for its next flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, moving further away from the sharp, boxy look that has defined the Ultra line since 2022.

Leaker @UniverseIce revealed on X that the upcoming model will feature significantly more rounded corners than its predecessors, a design change aimed at improving ergonomics.

Previous Ultra models – from the S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra – adopted a squarer, Note-like aesthetic, which some users found uncomfortable for one-handed use.

The S25 Ultra softened the edges slightly, but the S26 Ultra is expected to take this further. The rounder corners should make the phone easier to hold and reduce wear on pockets.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to launch in January 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge.

Early leaks indicate it will retain the 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and S Pen support, while adopting a slimmer, lighter design.

The device is likely to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, a 200MP main camera with an f/1.4 aperture and faster 60W wired charging for its 5,000mAh battery.

Rumoured improvements include larger apertures for the telephoto and ultrawide cameras, promising better low-light performance.

There are also whispers of a ‘Flex Magic Pixel’ OLED display that could use AI to improve privacy.

The S-Pen will remain, maintaining Samsung’s Note legacy, though this means the phone may not fully support Qi2 wireless charging.

While the S26 Ultra’s boxy roots may be fading, Samsung appears to be prioritising user comfort without sacrificing flagship performance.
