Samsung Foldable Phone Tipped To Launch March For US$1,770

Following its teaser unveiling last week, recent reports claim Samsung will launch its first foldable phone in March next year for around US$1,770.

According to Korean-based Yonhap News, Samsung will release its foldable phone alongside a 5G-capable Galaxy S10 in March.

Sources claim the Galaxy S10 will unveil in February, with a 5G-capable version launching a month later.

Last week at its Developer Conference, Samsung Mobile Boss DJ Koh confirmed its foldable phone would release sometime in H1Y19, with shipment volumes forecast to be at least 1 million.

According to Yonhap News insiders claim Samsung will use Mobile World Congress 2019 to showoff its foldable phone, ahead of an official launch a month later.

Whilst pricing of Samsung’s foldable phone remains under wraps, Yonhap has been informed by “industry watchers” it will retail for around US$1,770 – a flagship price tipped to limit sales.

Last week Samsung revealed the device would fold inwards, with its 4.6-inch folded screen producing a 7.4-inch unfolded display.

Unlike its Galaxy S10 variant, Samsung’s foldable phone is not expected to be 5G-capable.
