Samsung Could Scrap “S” Name In Favour Of Galaxy X
Samsung could be making a dramatic change to its flagship S devices by changing the S to an X.
The report comes from Giz China which says a source explained the name change is made to make it simpler in the future for the devices name as S11 and S14 could be too complicated.
This also could be a dig at its number one competitor, Apple with its iPhone X, which has not done too well and reports saying the company might ditch the device altogether.
The name change could happen in 2019 with the S10 to be named the Galaxy X.
The Samsung S series have been around since 2010 beginning with the Samsung Galaxy S series.
Its upcoming model, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be launched on February 25 at MWC with pre-ordering to be available from the beginning of March.
However, this is all a rumour so it should be taken lightly but as usual, watch this space.
