Samsung Adds iPhone Compatibility For Gear S3, Gear S2 and Gear Fit2

Owners of Samsung’s Gear S3, Gear S2 and Gear Fit2 will now be able to use their wearables with iOS devices.

The Samsung Gear S app on the Apple App Store will enable connectivity with the Gear S3 and the Gear S2, while the Samsung Gear Fit app will connect with the Gear Fit2.

After downloading the required app, users will be guided through the steps necessary to pair the wearable to their iPhone.

“Samsung has pioneered the wearables category across multiple generations of smartwatch and fitness bands,” said Richard Fink, VP of Samsung Australia’s Mobile Division.

“Our latest products offer the very best in both design and functionality and we are excited to extend our experience to new customers with the announcement of Gear iOS compatibility,” Mr Fink added.

The apps are available now for iPhone devices as early as the iPhone 5 through to the latest iPhone 7 and 7+ (iOS 9.0 or greater is required). Samsung notes that there may be some limitations to the services and features of Gear devices on certain iOS devices.
