Recall Issued For Sunbeam Iron Amid Electric Shock Fears

The ACCC have issued a recall for Sunbeam’s Aeroglide Rapid Iron, citing a possible risk of electric shock.

According to the Product Safety page for the recall, “The product has only a single layer of insulation between the wiring and the top of the iron, which is non compliant with Australia Safety Standard 60335.2.3.”

The Aeroglide Rapid is sold throughout Australia, both via retail outlets David Jones, Harris Scarfe, Harvey Norman, Narta and The Good Guys, online resellers and directly from Sunbeam Australia themselves.

The ACCC advise all owners of the product to to stop using the machine and return the product to Sunbeam for a full refund or higher value replacement product.
