Philips Pivot To High-Res Audio With New Headphones

Philips have revealed a new on-ear headphones designed to deliver high resolution audio will be making its way to customers

Called the SHB9850NC, it’ll harness 40mm neodymium drivers combined with a closed-back acoustic system design and over-ear sealing provide impressive and precise sound.

The company says that “Unlike most noise cancellation headphones, these work with or without a battery to consistently deliver excellent audio in any environment. If the battery runs out, simply plug in the audio cable and continue enjoying your favorite music.”

They incorporate Philips’ own ActiveShield Pro hybrid active noise cancelling technology that promises noise cancellation over a wider frequency range and with a greater degree of optimisation.

The headphones work off Bluetooth, so they will be compatible with any Bluetooth-capable device.

Philips says the headphones come with 16 hours of battery life with noise-cancelling enabled or 33 hours without.

The SHB9850NC will be available from mid-to-late September for an RRP of $299.95.
