Panasonic has announced a wave of updates across its LUMIX ecosystem, introducing new creative tools and performance enhancements for its cameras, lenses and companion apps.

The updates will roll out from October 20 via app stores and the LUMIX Global Customer Support website.

Leading the lineup is LUMIX Lab App Version 2.0, which debuts a new AI-powered feature called Magic LUT.

This allows creators to generate and apply custom colour styles by referencing any image – instantly matching tones, hues and moods across photos or videos.

Users can fine-tune LUT intensity and opacity directly in-camera, with support for JPEG, HEIF and MP4 files captured not only on LUMIX devices but also on cameras and smartphones from other brands.

The LUMIX Flow App Version 1.3 also receives a major overhaul, expanding support to the S5II, S5IIX and GH7 models.

The update adds vertical UI compatibility for external monitors, improved multi-device mirroring (up to four devices) and a more flexible storyboard editing system.

It also introduces features designed to streamline professional video workflows, including LUT view assist, multiple frame marker display and enhanced autofocus frame visibility.

Firmware updates are being released across several LUMIX models, including the S5II, S5IIX, S9, GH7 and G9II, bringing faster startup times, improved Bluetooth connectivity with DJI RS 4 gimbals and expanded focus ring customisation.

The latter allows photographers to use the focus ring as a control ring, assigning key functions and reversing rotation direction for manual focus.

Panasonic’s S Series prime lenses, including the 18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm F1.8 and 100mm F2.8, also receive Version 2.0 firmware, adding the same focus ring control flexibility.
