OZ CE Retailers Need To Implement Same Day Delivery Claims Best Buy Executives
JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman will have no option but to move to same day delivery or even sooner when Amazon launch in Australia.
According to Best Buy executives at IFA Australian retailers will have to adopt “similar practises to Best Buy if they are going to be “seen as being competitive” up against Amazon a senior executive said.
Currently Best Buy is is growing its same-day delivery program across several cities in the USA.
ChannelNews is aware that one major retailer is in discusions with Linfox regarding same day delivery.
Best Buy is currently adding cities where consumers can order products from BestBuy.com and receive them just a few hours later, it’s also expanding the number of products available for same-day fulfillment.
In Australia Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are the cities that Amazon is currently focusing on to faci;litate “fast deliver” of goods ordered from their online sites.
Best Buy has also moved to cut the cost of same day delivery from US$14.99 to US$5.99.
At Best Buy same-day is now available seven days a week (up from the original six), and orders placed by 3 p.m. can be received by 9 p.m. that evening (Sunday delivery deadlines are 4 p.m.).
