Oura is broadening the health monitoring capabilities of its smart ring platform through a series of software-driven updates, bringing more advanced health insights to existing users without requiring new hardware.

The company’s latest Health Radar initiative introduces two new features, Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing, both designed to identify long-term changes in health patterns rather than focusing on day-to-day fluctuations. The approach reflects a growing trend in wearable technology, where continuous data collection is used to highlight gradual changes that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Blood Pressure Signals analyses overnight sensor data collected during sleep to identify patterns associated with cardiovascular health. Rather than producing a traditional blood pressure reading, the feature monitors how blood pressure behaviour changes over time, particularly the natural overnight decline that typically occurs during sleep.

Nighttime Breathing takes a similar approach by tracking respiratory disturbances across a 30-day period. By examining longer-term trends, the system aims to provide a clearer picture of how breathing patterns may influence sleep quality, recovery and daily energy levels.

The updates will be available to users of the Oura Ring 3 and newer devices in the United States from June 2026. The move highlights Oura’s strategy of extending new capabilities through software enhancements, allowing existing devices to benefit from ongoing developments in health analysis without requiring users to upgrade to the latest model.
