Optus Launch Self-branded ZTE Prepaid Smartphones

Optus has silently added two new ZTE-based smartphones to its pre-paid lineup under the self-branded titles of Optus X Power 2 and Optus X Wave.

The Optus X Power 2 (pictured right) is an update to last years model price at $129 for the prepaid mobile.

Running Android 9.0 the device includes a 5.45-inch touch screen, an 8MP rear camera (plus a 5MP selfie camera), 2GB of ram and up to 272GB of internal storage (256GB from expandable micro SD storage).

The Optus X Wave (pictured below), for $149, comes with a slightly larger 6.088-inch touch display, a 13MP camera (plus 5MP selfie camera) and also runs Android 9.

Both phones come with a removable battery, with a 2,600 mAh inside the Power 2 and a 3,200 mAh included in the X Wave.

Optus also promises less “fidgety fingers” with theĀ 2.0GHz Quad-Core MTK CPU included in both models making “slow loading times a thing of the past”.

The X Wave also includes “face unlock” for safe and efficient device security.

As the budget smartphone market increases its prominence, more quality budget phones like the ones offered by Optus will continue to make their way to the consumer, with more features and improved functionality.
