New Motorola Phones Set To Be Unveiled This Month
With a new teaser video posted on X, Motorola has confirmed that it is set to reveal new smartphones on Thursday, August 29.
At least three new phones are tipped to debut next week including the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, the Moto G35 5G, and the Moto G55 5G.
The trailer shows off several colour options, likely for the Edge 50 Neo, including Poinciana (a red similar to the colour of poinsettias), Peach Fuzz (the Motorola x Pantone Colour of the Year for 2024), Latte, and Nautical Blue.
Tipsters have suggested that the device will have a 6.4-inch pOLED display, a baseline of 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as well as a 4,310mAh battery.
Next, the Moto G35 is expected to feature 4GB RAM/128GB storage, followed by an 8GB/128GB version and an 8GB/256GB version. That phone too is expected to be available in several colours including Guava Red, Leaf Green and Midnight Black.
The third phone which is believed to be part of the trio of releases next week is the Moto G55 5G and will reportedly be available in Smoky Green, Forest Grey, and Twilight Purple with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It might feature a punch-hole camera and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button.
At the August 29 event, it should become clear if these phones are headed to Australia too. Already Motorola has launched a number of exciting devices in Oz this year.
Most recently, it debuted the Moto G85 5G here. The A$399 phone has a large 6.7-inch edge-to-edge display, a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor and a 50MP main camera.
According to industry analyst IDC, Motorola maintained its position as the third-largest smartphone company in Australia for the second quarter of 2024. It achieved a 137 per cent growth year-on-year for the same period, the largest growth compared to other manufacturers in this market.
