Android users seeking to access music.google.com may have stumbled across the interface (left) inviting users to “get Android app”

However, this link redirects to the Google Music Beta app but still does not yet does allow tracks to be purchased from Android Market.

The ‘Learn More and “Shop Android” options are still lacking functionality according to German site, News On Droid, who uncovered the intriguing links on Google Music.

Google Music Beta storage service is available by invitation only in the US since earlier this year.

But the new cloud music service will be like iTunes or Spotify but with an extra “twist” according to Andy Rubin, head of Android development.

Android new cloud locker will “a little twist – it will have a little Google in it. We won’t just be selling 99-cent tracks,” Rubin told AsiaD conference in Hong Kong last week.

However, he did say the impending cloud locker service was “close to completion” although failed to specify when exactly. But at least ‘Droids now have certainty an iCloud alternative is coming. 

The cloud locker will combine Mp3 download and cloud storage service, similar to Apple iCloud service on iOS 5.
