Murdoch To Make Headlines For Facebook News Feed

Headlines from the Wall St. Journal and other News Corp publications are the main features of Facebook’s upcoming news tab which will launch next month. The Washington Post, BuzzFeed News, and Business Insider have reached a similar deal with Facebook.

The news organisations will be paid a licensing fee to supply headlines which will appear in Facebook’s news section.

They will be curated by a team of editors, while others will be selected by the company’s algorithm. Facebook is trying to allay criticism that the social media giant has a lax approach to fake news reports and state-backed disinformation campaigns.
