Moto The Brand Carriers Rejected Despite Stunning Product Offering

Motorola, or Moto as is called today, is back with a stunning pair of smartphones and an equally stunning range of accessories, the only problem is that not one single carrier is ranging the new Moto collection of products.

Compounding this problem is that fact that distribution at this stage is only through Officeworks, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman with two of these retailers not known for their smartphone sales.

Now owned by Lenovo, the MotoZ which was recently revealed at IFA is the only smartphone in the world to incorporate a custom designed collection of backs that transform your mobile experience in a snap.

Moto Camera

They include a super zoom camera incorporating Hasselblad technology, a battery that delivers a weekend of power, a big screen projector that delivers a 70” display and a JBL developed sound system that simply clicks onto the back of the Moto Z.

Underneath these very smart and well thought out accessories is the Moto Z smartphone which is being described as the thinnest smartphone in the world today at just 5.2 mm thick.

The Moto Z also features a 14 cm 5.5” Quad HD AMOLED display, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM.

In the device itself is a high-resolution 13MP, f 1.8 camera with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus.

What Motorola has done is use add-ons that magnetically attach to the back of smartphones, offering supplementary functionality like a loud speaker, short-throw projector, camera, and, of course, additional battery.

Without that special feature, the Moto Z and Moto Z Play remain formidable, though somewhat plain, Android smartphones in their own right.

A sister product to the Moto Z is the Moto Z Play, this device has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, 2.0 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 625, 3 GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel main camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. Despite the lower specs, the Moto Z Play is compatible with all Moto Mods.

Both devices go on sale on the 13th October, the Mot Z is $999 and the Moto Play $699.

All of these smartphone retailers chose to not range the new Moto products.
