McIntosh Double The Power Of New Valve Amp

McIntosh has introduced a second generation hybrid integrated amplifier. Utilising an all-analogue design, the MA352 doubles the output power of its predecessor, the MA252, to 200 watts.

Comprising a valve preamplifier section, powered by a pair of 12AX7A and a pair of 12AT7 tubes, and solid-state amplifier, the new amplifier features dual-scale McIntosh blue watt-meters which offer a readout of power output for speaker impedance.

The MA352 has two balanced and three unbalanced inputs, plus one Moving Magnet phono input for turntables with adjustable loading. A preamplifier output is available for connecting power amplifiers.

The unit sits on a stainless-steel mirror-finish chassis, and has vintage McIntosh-styled die-cast aluminium name badges, blue output meters, control knobs, an illuminated logo and a black glass front panel with direct LED backlighting.

Proprietary McIntosh technologies including Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks and High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director.

To aid with setup, the MA352 also has a five-band analogue tone controls, Home Theatre Pass Through, Power Control, Data Ports and gold-plated binding posts.

Local pricing and release still to be confirmed.
