Buffalo have launched the world’s first portable dual-interface external hard drive with Thunderbolt and USB 3.0, as it anticipates mass take up of Thunderbolt by Windows PC makers.

The MiniStation Thunderbolt hard drive built with Intel gives super fast interface and boasts 3X times the data transfer speed of USB 2.0.

 The Buffalo supports USB 2.0 and 3.0.

The slim HDD comes in 500GB and 1TB storage options, and housed in a lightweight aluminium body and features an indirect disk access LED indicator on the underside.

The HDD is bus-powered so it requires no additional power supply, and can be formatted to support both PCs and Macs compatibe with Mac OS X Time Machine.

The ultra-compact HDD is ideal for large files such as video, audio and images, or moving data across multiple devices with different ports.

Price wise, 500GB (RRP $279.00), while 1.0TB (RRP $329.00)
