Logitech Targets Content Creators & Gamers With New Mics & Light Bar

As a set, the new Logitech G Yeti GX (a broadcast-style USB microphone), Yeti Orb mic, and Litra Beam X LED light bar (not confirmed if it will be sold in Australia) are targeting the gaming and content creation market.

The Logitech G Yeti GX USB broadcast-style microphone has a heavy stand and configurable RGB lighting and is coming soon to Australia, according to Logitech.com. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.

Two settings can be activated for different animated effects by configuring the LEDs, allowing users to customize certain coloured lights. There’s also a LED stripe in the digital volume wheel that is either red or blue, depending on whether the mic is muted.

The Yeti GX is a supercardioid microphone, which The Verge describes as “a kind of unidirectional mic designed to focus on sound in front of the pickup rather than behind the microphone” which is helpful because it could drown out the sound of a gamer’s keyboard and also is claimed to work well even in not ideal environments.

Logitech’s global product manager Soren Pedersen, depicted the Yeti GX as comparable to a Shure SM7, a popular broadcaster microphone.

The new mic has a USB-C to USB-A cable desktop mount with adapters for 5/8-inch and 3/8-inch connections.

The other mic announced is the $99.95 Yeti Orb, which looks like it sounds, has a USB-C port and is a condenser cardioid mic, which Logitech says minimises background noise. On the AUS Logitech site, the electronics giant said it will be coming soon.

Logitech is also releasing the Litra Beam X LED light bar, but the pricing and whether it is coming to Australia has yet to be confirmed.

The light bar is dual-sided, with a tunable (2700K – 6500K) white bar, and the Senior product marketing manager Andrew Siminoff, said the lights are UL-certified for safe, all-day use.

All three products can use Logitech’s G Hub app, allowing users to sync lighting and configure vocal effects and specific audio profiles with the software’s Blue Voice feature presets.
