The most impressive of the new products was a big new 12.9″ iPad Pro which is set to be extremely pricey in Australia.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president for worldwide marketing, introduced the new iPad at a packed event in San Francisco, the long-anticipated iPad Pro, has a bigger screen than Apple’s smallest laptops.

It has a 12.9-inch screen and weighs 712 grams, about the same weight as the original iPad.

While the iPad rivals Apple’s line of PCs in physical size, it runs the same operating system that powers its other mobile devices, iOS. The device will be available in November and costs between $950 and $1,200.

The new iPad Pro uses a 2732 x 2048 resolution with 264 ppi display, and makes use of the new split screen app features of iOS 9. The width of the iPad Pro is the same as the height of the iPad Air 2. “It can do things that a smartphone doesn’t do because it doesn’t have to sit in your pocket,” says Apple’s Phil Schiller. Apple is using the same technology from its iMac with Retina 5K display to bring the iPad Pro pixels to life. “For the first time in an Apple display, it has a variable refresh rate,” explains Schiller. This means Apple can slow the display down and save battery.
Inside it’s using Apple’s new A9X processor, which Apple claims is 1.8 times faster than the previous chip it replaces. “Our chip team is just on fire,” says Schiller. Graphics on the iPad Pro have doubled in terms of performance, so it’s clearly going to be a fast device for games and productivity apps. “It is faster than 80 percent of the portable PCs that shipped in the last 12 months,” claims Schiller. “In graphics tasks it’s faster than 90 percent of them.”
 iPad Pro performance
To highlight its performance credentials, Apple says the iPad Pro will last 10 hours on battery with the ability to edit three streams of 4K video simultaneously. Apple has even added a four-speaker audio system to the iPad Pro, and iOS 9 will balance the sound dependent on how you’re holding the device.
The iPad Pro is just 6.9mm thin and 712grams so it’s very thin and lightweight considering the large 12.9-inch display.

Apple also developed two notable accessories for the iPad Pro. There’s a cover with a physical keyboard (A$246) and a stylus called Apple Pencil ($144). Steve Jobs famously derided the idea of styluses, which seemed more like a square Microsoft thing.

At Wednesday’s event, Apple brought Microsoft employees on stage to show the new Office 365 working on an Apple product.

Then there was the roll out of new Apple iPhones.

Apart from the predicted upgrade of processor, camera and memory the biggest new feature on the Apple 6S and Apple 6S Plus, the two phones announced overnight is a feature called 3D Touch.

This enables the phone to know how forcefully someone is touching the screen, so you can do one thing by touching the screen lightly, and something else by pushing hard.

Apple has also introduced a new feature called Live Photos, which automatically record photos as short videos, so holding your finger on a photo will show you a moment of movement.

Apple is also introducing an app for Android devices that makes it easier for people to switch to iPhones. They will be available Sept. 25. IOS 9, the new operating system, will be available for older models on Sept. 16.

iPhone Pricing is as follows:
iPhone 6s
16GB: $1079
64GB: $1229
128GB: $1379
iPhone 6s Plus
16GB: $1229
64GB: $1379
128GB: $1529

Apple TV
Apple has been selling an Apple TV product since 2007. Eight years later, Tim Cook, the company’s chief executive, began last night’s discussion of television by saying that not much innovative had happened to the television experience in decades. “Our vision for TV is simple and perhaps a bit provocative,” he said. In short, Apple thinks that watching TV should feel like using a smartphone, with a home screen of apps.

Apple has developed a new operating system for the latest version of Apple TV and is opening it up to developers for the first time. One notable addition: games. Apple showed off a number of interactive games, including a bulked-up version of mobile game Crossy Road. They also showed off a version of Guitar Hero, which has mostly been played on consoles.
The new Apple TV comes with a new touchscreen remote with voice control via Siri (“show me a funny TV show”) as well as motion sensors for gaming.

The new device costs between $217 and $300 + depending on storage capacity. A beta version of the software is open to developers immediately, and the devices will be available in late October.

While the new Apple TV is clearly more advanced than previous versions of the device, it is actually far less provocative than Silicon Valley’s real vision for television: the transformation of live television. Apple had hoped to launch a live TV service this year but delayed the project because it couldn’t get the content deals lined up.

Apple Watch
Apple announced that they are partnering up with Hermes for a brand-new luxury version of the coveted watch, which will consist of three exclusive bands in brown leather. It will also feature a custom watch face, and one version will have a hand-stitched leather “double tour” band, in typical Hermes fashion.

Apple claimed that 97% of first time buyers of the Apple watch were satisfied with their purchase. There was no mention of actual sales numbers.

Apple first showed off its new Apple Watch software in June at its developer conference.

The biggest change is that developers will be able to build apps that run on the watch itself instead of on an iPhone. Overnight the company said the new software will be available Sept. 16 and showed off a few notable apps, including Facebook Messenger and Airstrip, an app for health-care providers that uses the app to monitor vital signs. It also announced that Hermes is making a new line of bands for the watch and that there will be several new finishes, including rose gold.
