LG Takes On Samsung With Affordable ‘Q Stylus’

Fellow Korean giant, LG, has sought to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note series, launching its new mid-tier ‘Q Stylus’ in Australia for A$649.

Like Samsung’s Note, the Q Stylus features an electronic ‘pen’, however, its affordable price tag targets price-consumers consumers who don’t require mammoth specs.

LG’s Q Stylus is available to buy in Australia from Harvey Norman in ‘Aurora Black’, with no ‘Morrocan Blue’ option.

Like Samsung’s Galaxy Note, the Q Stylus allows users to save handwritten notes/memos even when the phone screen is off.

Despite its mid-range price, LG claims the Q Stylus incorporates several features (e.g. DTS:X audio) previously found in its flagship phones.

As previously reported, Samsung has announced it’s moving away from a flagship-focused mobile strategy, towards a diversified mid-range portfolio.

Future Samsung phones will reportedly debut new capabilities on mid-range handsets, rather than reserving features for flagship devices.

The news comes as the global smartphone market continues to constrict, specifically in the premium market.

Further information about LG’s Q Stylus is available on the company’s website here.
