LG Rises Up With New Levitating Portable Speaker

A new levitating speaker from LG will be one of the many innovative and unique products on show at this year’s CES.

The “futuristic” PJ9 Levitating Portable Speaker hovers over a Levitation Station using powerful electromagnets, and can deliver 10 hours of high-quality audio playback. When the battery starts to run low, the speaker will automatically descend into the Levitation Station to charge, with music continuing to play without any interaction required from users.

“Our latest addition to our growing lineup of premium wireless audio devices is not only eye-catching but also communicates the message that LG is serious about bringing something different to the table,” said president and CEO of LG’s Home Entertainment Company Brian Kwon.

The PJ9 is also IPX7 compliant, allowing it to withstand use outdoors regardless of weather conditions, and it can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously using Multipoint technology. A 360-degree omnidirectional speaker featuring a turbine blade-inspired design is housed within the speaker unit, while a subwoofer is embedded inside the Levitation Station.

“We are absolutely dedicated to exploring new concepts and to pioneering innovative designs for its advanced audio products for consumers around the world, and the PJ9 is the latest example of this commitment,” Mr Kwon said.

LG’s PJ9 Levitating Portable Speaker will be on show at LG’s stand at CES 2017.
