LG G6 Scores Massive Tick Of Approval From Netflix, With Dolby HDR Tick Of Approval

LG has scored a big tick from Netflix with the LG G6 getting the only smartphone certification from Netflix for HDR video for their streaming service.

This means that owners of a 6G which is seriously up there with the Samsung S8 can watch shows, Daredevil, Marco Polo or House of Cards with high dynamic range visuals.

The LG G6 is the first smartphone to get the Netflix Dolby Vision HDR certification, while the S8 has HDR it is not the Dolby certified version.

According to Netflix the LG TV’s in particular their OLED TV’s are among the best in the world for streaming Netflix content with both Companies working closely together to develop improvements to streaming.

Netflix has confirmed they will deliver HDR video to other Android devices later this year, but at this the LG G6 is the one to go for if you love watching or streaming from your movie Netflix content.
For some the big question is whether high dynamic range is necessary on a 5- or 6-inch screen, compared to a 65-inch 4K UHD TV is up for debate.

Netflix is giving subscribers the opportunity to make that determination for themselves, and we look forward to putting the G6 through its paces running Netflix content.
