LG Announced New XBoom Party Speaker Range

LG has announced a pair of new Bluetooth party speakers, emblazoned with LED lights, karaoke functions, and more.

The XL5 and XL7 are the latest in LG’s line of XBoom speakers, a step up from the previous RN5 and RN models.

The more mighty of the two, the XL7, is a hefty 14.7kg party box, measuring 31cm x 70cm x 31.5cm and housing an 8-inch woofer, and two 2.5-inch tweeters.

Keeping with the portable aspect, it features wheels and a handy retractable carry-on luggage handle so you don’t need to lug it around.

It boasts a 20-hour battery life, fully-charged after three hours, and a Pixel LED panel that displays texts, images, and animations – plus a LED ring that provides a colourful lighting show.

The XL5 is a smaller version, 28cm x 57cm x 28cm, and weighing 12kgs – but features no wheels or pull-out handle – a baffling decision given it’s only slightly less cumbersome than the XL7.

It contains the same 2.5-inch tweeters, but a smaller 6.5-inch tweeter, pumping out 200 watts. The XL5 also skips the Pixel LED screen, and has only a 12-hour battery, after a 3.5 hour charge.

Boom XBoom speakers support Bluetooth SBC and AAC codecs, and feature USB connectivity.
