PC giant Lenovo is set to take on Microsoft and their Windows OS with what is being described as an artificial intelligence OS.
According to sources Lenovo who is also working on a transparent PC is working on a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) operating system that might just give Windows a run for its money.
At CES 2024 event, I saw several very clever new products that the Hong Kong based business is set to release but it was the comments of Liu Jun the Companies Executive Vice President and President, Lenovo China who let slip that Lenovo is going to roll out a new AI OS this year.
What’s not known is whether any reference will be made to the new AI OS at this month’s Mobile World Conference event.
What’s clear is that all of the big PC companies are working on AI with Lenovo set to launch new AI products this year in Australia.
The idea is to make computers and devices smarter at understanding what we want, using natural language.
This means the Lenovo product you purchase will immediately start working out your needs and the way you work with immediate short cuts.
So far Microsoft has botched their attempt at AI inspired improvements, with new versions of AI inspired Word, Outlook and Excel a nightmare to use and instead of improving productivity have left users wasting time because of new cloud-based changes that simply don’t work.
Lenovo’s first batch of these smart AI PCs is expected to hit the shelves in the first half of this year.
They’re designed to be super intuitive, with a knack for picking up on user intent.
Lenovo is also working on several smart devices embedded with AI that we expect to see in the third quarter.
Lenovo’s primary objective is to kickstart an AI PC ecosystem in an effort to get PC sales moving.
If they pull it off, Lenovo’s AI OS might stand toe-to-toe with big names like Microsoft’s Windows 11 and even Android.
