Control4 has extended its smart home platform into the smallest room in the house, announcing a new partnership with Kohler.

The move brings Kohler’s Anthem+ smart showering system into the Control4 ecosystem, allowing homeowners to automate their showers as part of whole-home routines.

Users can trigger presets using a touchscreen, mobile app, or voice command.

Anthem+ combines digital valves, a controller module and a sleek interface.

It can manage up to 12 outlets simultaneously, supports dual temperature zones, and allows users to adjust flow rates for varying water intensities. The built-in steam and spa-style presets add a luxury wellness angle.

New features include an ‘ice shower’ mode designed for cold therapy and integration with Kohler’s Invigoration steam and SoundTile speakers.

After every session, the system displays water consumption, with the Kohler Konnect app providing longer-term usage tracking.

Showering is getting increasingly frictionless

One of the selling points is the ability to treat the shower like any other smart device within the Control4 ecosystem. That means it can be folded into customised ‘routines’ that already link lighting, blinds, heating, entertainment and security.

For example, a ‘morning routine’ could now switch on the bedroom lights, open blinds, turn on music and run the shower at a set temperature.

Kohler says the partnership underscores its focus on innovation at the intersection of water, design and technology.

In 2024, Resideo acquired Snap One and integrated it into its ADI Global Distribution arm. Through that deal, Control4 is now operated under the ADI / Resideo umbrella.

The tie-up makes sense for ADI | Snap One because it takes smart home automation into what it calls “the most personal space” in the house.

The deal reflects growing consumer demand for wellness and biohacking-friendly features, while also tapping into sustainability concerns through water-use monitoring.

For the retail channel, it opens an opportunity to bundle bathroom upgrades with broader smart home packages.

With Anthem+ certified for Control4, integrators can pitch a more complete lifestyle solution.

One that now runs from the living room all the way into the bathroom.
