To mark the HTC One which goes on sale today, Optus is offering bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer (QFF) rewards to existing mobile postpaid customers with 8000 bonus QFF points when upgrading to a $60 plan, or above.

You can get the Qantas points when you buy any phone plan including the new One from Optus ‘yes’ stores, online, telesales and retail channel partners.

(Note: Telstra and Vodafone’s carrot for customers buying the new Android HTC was a freebie pair of Beats Sold headphones $199).

But Telstra also unveiled new contract free plans earlier this week,  as the telco race for the mobile customer heats up.

The wonderful full HD Android phone, 4.7″ HTC One phone goes on sale today and incidentally, Samsung hero Galaxy S4 is being unveiled in Australia at a flash launch at the Sydney Opera House tonight, as Android brands battle it out for mindshare.

Tipped as one of the best smartphones on the market, the One phone has HTC BlinkFeed for live info. feeds, aluminium unibody, an astonishingly good HTC Zoe camera, and BoomSound with two speakers at the front of the device, which runs on 4G or 3G networks.

Optus says the offer will also coincides with the release of its new line of 4G LTE phones as it looks up to catch up to 4G king Telstra whose souped up mobile network has been in action for 18 months, while Optus network is still in its infancy, by comparison.

Voda’s 4G is tipped to go live June.
