NRL V A-League: Optus Kick Off War With Telstra

Football Federation Australia (FFA) have just revamped their websites with the help from Optus to create “the complete football digital experience” with loads of exclusive content for footie fanatics.

Optus is now promising customers “exclusive content” and insights into “locker-room antics and post-game thoughts” with “extensive” game video highlights, post- game interviews, opinions and analysis from a dedicated match centre, and live minute-by-minute commentary on FFA’ revamped sites which it helped design.

And if that isn’t enough the telco has unleashed two new A-league and Socceroos apps for both iPhone or Android handsets, with alerts of match kick-off, goals scored, and other vital stats, to keep fans in the loop.

The free A-League app can also be centred on a favourite club to deliver personalised player profiles, news, and video.

“These enhanced platforms for the FFA and the individual clubs will strongly engage the fan-base out there and drive the sport’s status to even greater heights in Australia,” said Austin R. Bryan, Director of Optus Digital Media.

81 per cent of Aussies check sports scores on their mobile for a game they’re missing, Optus said today.

The new apps are now available through the Apple App Store and will hit Android Market and Optus App Store from October 7.
