Indian Government Issues Urgent Google Chrome Security Warning
The Indian Government is urging Google Chrome users to update their browsers immediately due to multiple high-risk vulnerabilities.
The Government’s cybersecurity agency has issued a “high severity” warning, regarding various vulnerabilities found inside Google Chrome.
The security flaws could allow remote attackers to execute malicious code, taking control of the user’s systems and stealing sensitive data.
The advisory explained remote attackers could exploit vulnerabilities by persuading unsuspecting victims to go to specially crafted websites.
Once these pages have been visited, the security flaws will be triggered, which allows the hackers to launch unnoticed attacks on the users.
Memory errors can be exploited by these attackers in the Side Panel Search feature, which could lead to arbitrary code execution or bypassing security measures.
When browsing the internet, users have been urged to be cautious, especially when visiting unfamiliar, suspicious websites.
They have been warned to avoid clicking on links from untrusted sources, and to not interact with unwanted emails and messages.
