It’s been tipped that Chinese smartphone brand Huawei will be bringing their upcoming Mate 10 smartphone to Germany for an official reveal, but not in time for this year’s IFA.
Reports out of Polish tech site TableTwo claim that the handset will be officially revealed during a dedicated event in Munich on October 16th.
According to previous leaks, the Mate 10 will feature an edge-to-edge 6-inch screen, with an 18:9 display ratio and 2160×1080 pixel resolution. It’ll also be the first Huawei device to run on the Kirin 970 processor.
Given the success that Huawei have had using Lieca-powered dual-lens cameras in their P9 and P10 flagships, expect some version of that feature to turn up here as well.
Its also been reported that a smaller variant of the Mate 10, called the Mate 10 Lite, will also be on offer. This model will feature display and potentially water-red specs, but also land at a lower pricepoint.
During the earnings call, CEO Richard Yu teased the Mate 10 directly, saying it will deliver “longer battery life with a full-screen display, quicker changing speed, better photographing capability and many other features that will help us compete with Apple.”
