Huawei Launch Quad Camera P30 Pro For A$1,599

Chinese telco giant, Huawei, has taken on Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series, with the global unveiling of its new P30 and P30 Pro, priced at A$1,099 and A$1,599 respectively.

Australian pre-orders will open from March 27, with the handsets scheduled to land in-store on April 16.

Pre-order customers who purchase before April 15 will also receive a free Sonos One speaker.

For the tech-fanatic, P30/P30 Pro specifications are hardly a surprise, following a tsunami of leaks before the launch event.

Whilst the Chinese giant celebrated the P30 series’ at an official unveiling in Paris, several Australian journalists were given a pre-briefing under NDA.

Locally, the P30 Pro (8GB/256GB) will be sold as a single SIM model from Telstra and Vodafone, with a dual-SIM version available from Optus, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, mobileciti and Kogan.

Marketed as Huawei’s latest flagship device, the P30 Pro incorporates a revolutionary Leica Quad camera system, plus next-gen Super Spectrum imaging sensor.

Capabilities include a 5x optical, 10x hybrid and whopping 50x digital zoom.

The phone’s rear camera set-up includes a 40MP Super Spectrum sensor + 20MP Ultra Wide Angle and Macro Lens + 8MP Optical Periscope Zoom Lens + Huawei Time of Flight Lens [AI]. The front ‘selfie’ camera is a notable 32MP.

Available in ‘Breathing Crystal’ [light blue] and ‘Aurora’ [darker blue], the P30 Pro also features an in-display fingerprint scanner and reverse wireless charging.

The 6.47-inch smartphone incorporates a Huawei FullView Curved OLED Display screen, 4200mAh battery, and will ship with a protective case in the box.

The base P30 smartphone (6GB/126GB) will be available as a single SIM model from Vodafone, and dual SIM variant from Optus, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, mobileciti and Kogan.

The 6.1-inch P30 features a Leica triple camera system – with next gen SuperSpectrum 40MP sensor – in-display fingerprint sensor and Huawei FullView OLED display screen.

The 40MP SuperSpectrum sensor is complemented by a rear 16MP + 8MP sensor, and 32MP front ‘selfie’ camera.

The components pledge 3 x optical zoom, 5 x hybrid zoom, and 30 x digital zoom with OIS and AIS.

Also shipping with a protective case in the box, the P30 incorporates a 3650mAh battery with SuperCharge capabilities.
