Huawei is gearing up for the release of its Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro handset releases on October 16, but there is now speculation that the company may have another release up its sleeve for the event.
Chinese social media site Weibo shared a photo earlier this week showing a pair of laptops that may contain a highly anticipated update to its MateBook X Pro laptop.
The company has not responded to requests for more information regarding the leaked photo but sources claim it will be part of the October launch and will include an Nvidia RTX graphics card, something which was missing from the MateBook X Pro at launch.
Huawei’s flagship laptop was released in May this year complete with1.8GHz Intel Core i7-8550U and UHD Graphics 620, Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 720p webcam with far field microphones.
In related news, Huawei has again said it will release a foldable phone, in competition to Samsung, within a year. As the competition to be first to market heats up Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Division, told German publication Die Welt, “we are already working on it. You will not even have to wait another year,” he said.
Beijing Oriental Electronics is being tipped as the supplier of 8-inch flexible OLED panels for Huawei’s foldable handset offering, but there is still no clear indication of when this will actually happen.
