Hisense has unveiled its first serious move into the gaming monitor market, showcasing two high-end mini-LED displays at AWE 2026 in China, led by the flagship UX and the 5K GX Ultra.

The standout is the UX, which adopts a true RGB mini-LED backlight system – technology previously reserved for the company’s premium TVs.

Unlike conventional mini-LED panels that rely on a single white or blue backlight, Hisense’s approach uses individual red, green and blue light sources.

This allows colours to be generated directly at the backlight level, improving colour accuracy while reducing the halo effect often seen around bright objects.

The UX features 2,304 local dimming zones and up to 6,912 colour control zones, enabling more precise brightness and colour management across the screen.

Hisense claims up to 100% coverage of the BT.2020 colour gamut, alongside its H7 AI image processing chip for real-time optimisation. ‘An Obsidian Screen’ coating is also included to reduce reflections.

Alongside it, the GX Ultra targets performance-focused users with a 5K mini-LED panel, 2,304 dimming zones and peak brightness of 2,000 nits. It supports dual display modes, switching between 5K at 165Hz or QHD at 330Hz, and includes full-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1.

Hisense has yet to confirm pricing, availability or full specifications, but both models are expected to launch in 2026 as the company expands into the competitive gaming display segment.
