HCA Announces New Standard For More Efficient, Connected Homes
The Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) announced its new Specification 1.0, a new industry standard set by its members like Samsung for interoperable and energy-efficient connected home solutions.
With this specification, you can better track energy efficiency of your smart home with real-time data insights and adjust usage accordingly.
This is where Samsung’s newly announced SmartThings platform comes handy: its AI Energy Mode on the app allows you to automatically manage energy usage and costs using real-time insights.
Not only does it save you money, but also paves the way for a more sustainable future.
“Through combined industry efforts in HCA, we are working to make the smart home more accessible to consumers via the devices they use every day in the home,” said Chanwoo Park, Executive Vice President and Head of Service Biz Group of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics.
“We are taking a fresh look at how devices can enhance consumers’ lives and how the appliance industry can work together to create a safer connected home that our customers can trust. Through energy savings and support for legacy household products, we believe that we can contribute to a world where sustainability starts at home.”
HCA currently includes 15 global brands, including LG, AEG, and American Standards among others.
