BREAKING NEWS: CEDIA Show Merged With Integrate

The decision to merge the two shows to run alongside each other follows the acquisition of the Integrate show by Diversified Exhibitions.

The first combined CEDIA/Integrate show will be held in August 2013 in Sydney.

The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) has struggled to get traction in the events market after initially merging their event with the Design Build Show, which was attended primarily by building trades, not specialist installers.

Another issue was the emergence of wireless as a technology for the home along with a move by some CEDIA suppliers to the more profitable Pro AV market.

Now in partnership with Diversified Exhibitions, CEDIA has joined forces to offer the electronic systems professional industry a new tradeshow offering in Australia. CEDA executives claim the combining of CEDIA EXPO and Integrate EXPO into one event is set to become the signature show for professional, commercial and residential integrators in the Asia Pacific.

“Collectively, CEDIA members have been expressing their vote in favour for both organisations to unite,” said executive director Stephen Miller of CEDIA Asia Pacific. “This partnership sets the stage in furthering the growth of the electronic systems industry in Asia Pacific and making the show the largest in the region.”

“The importance of partnerships like this in the globalisation of services to the industry for CEDIA is vital,” said CEDIA Asia Pacific chairman, Len Wallis. “We exist for our members, because of our members. This partnership opens the door to continued cooperation across the region.”

According to the CEDIA Asia Pacific EXPO chair Alexis Caldwell, “This is a huge benefit to the entire industry and will be known as “The Show” to attend as it will provide a single platform for the professional, residential and commercial market.”

The CEDIA EXPO Asia Pacific 2013 was originally scheduled forJuly in the Gold Coast, but it will now be part of the Integrate EXPO scheduled for August 27-29 in Darling Harbour, Australia at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
