GoPro’s Karma Drone Approved For Relaunch

GoPro have announced that the Karma Drone is available for sale again after recalling the device last year due to safety concerns.

Some early customers of the drone had reported the device would randomly lose power mid-flight. While the issue affected only “a small number of Karma units” according to GoPro, the company voluntarily recalled the device due to the potential for safety issues.

“To clarify, this Karma is the same Karma that launched last year—to the naked eye,” GoPro said on its website.

“If you break the construction down, you’d see that we’ve redesigned the battery latch. A small change that led to a huge improvement.”

The Karma system, which is designed to work with GoPro’s range of action cameras, includes the Karma drone as well as the Karma Grip stabilising system.

Karma’s relaunch is initially limited to the US, with other locations expected to receive stock sometime in Autumn.
