GoPro Launches Three New Hero11 Black Cameras

GoPro has announced three new variations of its Hero11 Black camera, all of which feature a larger sensor, improved video stabilisation, and the widest field of view to date for a GoPro.

According to GoPro, each of the three cameras are aimed at different segments of the market, based on their needs.

The Hero11 Black is the flagship, aimed at those who value versatility and convenience, while the Hero11 Mini offers the same performance in a streamlined, smaller design.

The Hero11 Black Creator Edition is an ultra-light palm-sized camera aimed at vlogging and live streaming, with buttons positioned for one-handed filming, and over four hours of 4K recording per charge.

The Creator Edition also features an optional directional mic, plus an external mic input, HDMI port for connecting to external displays, a high-output LED light, and two cold shoe mounts for adding accessories.

The new 1/1.9” sensor, featured across all three models, delivers over 1 billion colors in 10-bit color video at up to 5.3K resolution at 60 frames per second — a 91 per cent resolution hike from 4K — as well as capturing stunning 27 megapixel photos.

This larger sensor provided 8:7 aspect ratio video — the largest vertical field of view ever on a GoPro — while the in-camera 360-degree Horizon Lock keeps footage steady, even when moving in a full circle.

The Hero11 Black series rewards GoPro subscribers, with a number of features tailors towards those users. Upon plugging the camera in to charge, it will automatically upload your footage to your GoPro cloud account, and edit it into a highlights video, which is then sent to your phone.

The GoPro Quik app allows cropping to simultaneously give extra-tall 9:16 vertical shots for Instagram and TikTok, plus high-resolution 16:9 cinematic shots for YouTube or televisions.

The Hero11 Black is available today at $649/95 for subscribers or $799.95 RRP. The Creator Edition is available from today for $929.95 for GoPro subscribers, or $1099.95 RRP.

The Mini will be available from October 25: $499.95 for GoPro Subscribers and $649.95 RRP.
